Is anyone planning on going? Unfortunately some of the best restaurants in DC aren't participating (Komi, Citronelle, Cityzen), but there are a few I've been meaning to try:

Black Salt: I'd never heard of this place until I moved back to DC and a colleague recommended it. They're only doing lunch.

1789: The last time I ate here was for my college graduation, and in the interest of full disclosure, I don't remember much about that night...

Mie N Yu: I've only had drinks here, was unimpressed, but friends really want to go for dinner so I figure I'll give it a shot.

Zatinya: I've actually eaten here a few times. Love it and I'll take any excuse to go back.

Anyone have any other recommendations?

I've been to Black Salt and I thought it was ok. I'm not really big on seafood, and my parents love the whole organic gimmick, but it wasn't the worst restaurant I've been to.

Not a bad list. I am saddened that Mendocino Grille and Wine Bar is not on it. I recommend Ardeo/Bardeo, Bistro Bis, Cafe Atlantico, Capital Grille, Charlie Palmer, Dino, Equinox, Jaleo, Oyamel, Perrys, Vidalia, and Zaytinya.

I actually just got off the phone with 1789, they're booked solid for the 16th-22nd, but they're extending the special pricing until March 1.

The Oval Room & The Oceanaire. I know it's DC Restaurant week, but you may want to try Monterery Bay Seafood over in Tysons.

Going to Cafe Atlantico, at the wife's request. Anyone been there?

I like Mei N Yu, the food isn't out of the world, but the decor is neat. 1789 is excellent, probably my favorite restaurant in DC. I think Oceanaire is fantastic, but its the kind of place I only go to on business lunches. Their tuna is top notch.

I've read the Citronelle is having problems and recently cut back their hours & staff. Hopefully they will be able to stay afloat, at least for long enough to give me a chance to eat there.

Cafe Atlantico is a Jose Andres joint. It may not be top tier (which is generally reserved for the likes of Citronelle, CityZen, Komi, etc.), but is second tier at worst. I think it's great.

We have clients out in Tyson's and the managers love it when they get to do lunch there.

Did 1789 get a new chef? The Nathan guy that replaced Ris was awful.

As for recs, I can't make any since I detest the limited menus and packed restaurants due to RW. I can often go to places for a regular dinner, choose any 3 courses I want, and only end up paying an extra $20-30 over the RW pricing. If you can do lunch, Ducasse's Adour in the St. Regis might be worth a try.

Heading to Art and Soul and Equinox.

I'd echo all of AC's recommendations excluding Oya (though an Andres joint so should be fine) and Dino because I've never been to either.

1789 is a fantastic deal during RW - I've done them twice during and once not; their full menu is available at RW pricing. Zaytinya, while a great restaurant, is not necessarily good for RW as they take the mezze approach; you can eat well there, off RW-menu, at any time of year for 35 bucks.

That's funny; that's the place we're going for RW this year

I can't believe we've never made it there.

I would say the same of Dino's prices--one of our favorite restaurants, but they're always running some specials that make it as reasonable as restaurant week.

It's funny how restaurant week always sneaks up on me. I'll definately try to see if some folks want to make it out for a few meals.
