Ask A Question, Get An Answer... - Post All Quick Questions Here (Classic menswear)

Puttind AE trees in Alden Shoes wouldn't be bad for the shoe? Or should I just order Woodlore trees from Amazon?

I don't believe there is a shoemaker anywhere around town, and the only place that sells Alden shoes carries nothing in stock.

Ask A Question, Get An Answer... - Post All Quick Questions Here (Classic menswear)

I just got some Alden 994's (Barrie Last). Now I am poor and still need to buy shoe trees. Do I have to spend another $50 to get Alden branded ones, or are there any other brands that would fit in the shoe and do the job for a cheaper price? Does Anyone know who makes the trees that Alden put...

    Linen suits and braces/suspenders

You're being paranoid. If you keep you jacket on, most loops would never be visible.

    Linen suits and braces/suspenders

It not the heat, it's the humidity, and it's a realistic fact we live with down here. That's why we wear so much seersucker.

Build a new Grad's Business Casual Wardrobe

For my business casual workplace, that occasionally lands me at a construction site or wastewater treatment plant I can't wear pants that would make me cry if they got ruined, so I go with LL Bean.

    Linen suits and braces/suspenders

A linen suit with suspenders is a good southern look. It's very common to see suspenders down here, especially on a linen suit, because of the intended purpose - to wear in a warm situation, i.e. one where you might be sweating. As linen gets wet (from sweat) it gets heavy. Suspenders do a good...

    Dry Cleaning 3-Roll-2 jackets?

I'm not sure where in the world you are, but if you wear a suit a dozen times in New Orleans in the summer with out cleaning it, it will stand up and walk off on its own.

Looking for a sack Blazer - Where should I get it?

If Press and O'Connell's both use Cohen, why go with Press over O'Connell's (which is a good bit more affordable) to compare to the Brooks blazer?

Looking for a sack Blazer - Where should I get it?

So, is O'Connell's then preferable to Brooks?

Why does no one make Cordovan Bit Loafers?

Rancourt hasn't emailed me back (in reply to my reply to the above). I'll let y'all know what they say when I do hear. And although Alden isn't taking MTO orders from individuals, it does seem like such outfits as Leather Soul, still get MTO batches. Maybe we could convince the guys at Leather...

    Dry Cleaning 3-Roll-2 jackets?

A stain, here or there on a tie, is just a badge of honor reminding you of the good times you had wearing it.

    Dry Cleaning 3-Roll-2 jackets?

Liberto on Prytania. They do an incredible job with suits, particularly with white linen, which they have a special whitening dip; I wouldn't take a white linen suit anywhere else. They do a great job on formal wear also, and are the only cleaners that isn't confused when I take a detachable...

Looking for a sack Blazer - Where should I get it?

Brooks' blazers are half canvased. Would a fully canvassed jacket be warmer/less breathable than a half canvased one?

Best pair of Summer shoes: Penny Loafers vs Bucks vs Boat Shoes

I had a nice long conversation with a shoes salesman (I believe it may have been at Perlis, but I may be mistaken on that one), where I learned that driving shoes are for driving and nothing else. Apparently, the upper wraps around to the bottom and it is not designed to come into frequent...

    Dry Cleaning 3-Roll-2 jackets?

It seems like sending garments to AZ to be cleaned would mean they spend less time in your possession than they do at the cleaners. I can't imagine mailing things to the cleaners. I suppose I am just lucky to live 3 blocks from the most detail oriented cleaners in the New Orleans area.
