Wait, are you guys talking about the vest showing at the top or at the bottom when the jacket is closed? I would assume that, as with white tie, the vest should not peek out below the jacket. Which way do you put your belt on? Clockwise or counterclockwise?
Wow, you guys are as weird as I am. A whole discussion about which way to put on a belt - I love it. Oh, and I always assumed that the clockwise standard went hand in hand with the buttons-on-the-right standard. For Halloween once I used some women's pants as part of my costume--it's amazing...- wldthistle

Am I alone in being against the popped-collar? ...
"Hat tipped at perfect angle" - This is exactly what I thought of. They seem to go together, don't they. Now if it's cold outside, and you've forgotten your scarf, pop away. Quartz movement wristwatches - can they be repaired easily/inexpensively?
Just a plug for another forum, The Poor Man's Watch Forum: http://www.pmwf.com/Phorum/index.php It's a good place, and they focus on "inexpensive" watches over there, which apparently means less than a thousand dollars. Of course, but in my experience there is no definite price to quality correlation. I would say there is a correlation (in the statistical sense). Higher-priced goods tend to be of better quality. Next time you're at a mall, just try popping in a low-end department store and then a high-end one...- wldthistle

Shearling Coat
It fits pretty well. Could be a little bit smaller. It looks like at one point somebody converted the coat to a double-breasted. In the picture you can see three light spots where a second row of buttons was attached. They're not noticeable in person though... must have been the camera flash...- wldthistle

ummmm... you don't think there is such a thing as "exceptionally high-quality cotton" or "disappointingly low-quality stitching"? Of course there's high and low quality cotton. The length of the fibers will be different, the sheen might be different... And I've also seen some pretty low-quality...- wldthistle

White Dial vs. Black
I'd agree that a white face is more elegant, assuming the watch is fairly elegant to begin with.
