what do you mean for "higher end lenses"?

    Ask me about Eyewear!

Too hard tech question for me :brick: Sorry but I can't answer. My personal good sense would suggest you to ask to other opticians, else you can't know if there could be other solutions with other lenses brands or just solutions that your optician didn't tell you to get much money, imho.;)

    Ask me about Eyewear!

Mmhh... maybe double aspheric lenses? They're useful for strong prescriptions afaik; is this your case? I'm not an optician but I think you don't need it to get a thinner lens, you could go for higher index spheric lenses and do not forget: the rounder is the lens' shape the thinner it will be...

    Ask me about Eyewear!

Consider that I've got only 2 pairs of Silhouette frames, both rimless: one pair of sunglasses and this pair of eyeglasses. I bought the sunglasses back in "the matrix" movie time and you can read a bit of that experience here in this thread. As you can see I bring to you another bad experience...

    Ask me about Eyewear!

I ask your help to evaluate if keeping my lenses shape or changing it. It's easy for me to modify their shape because I wear rimless silhouette eyewear. I drew this shape myself a couple of years ago and I could do the same work now as well. I took these photos last year from different sides...

    Poor man's watch thread

I've got this "very poor" chrono sector and I'd like to get a silicone / rubber strap for it to complete my "collection" (I've got a leather one and a nato one as well) :) I thought this diver bend could be ok but I'm not sure about the black color with the silver dial. What color do you...

Sunglasses ID: Al Pacino in "Heat"

Yes, they look like some vintage revos but Transmits aren't the most similar imho. I think REVO Sunglasses 3073 093 J4 Copper Frame Brown Polarized H20 Lenses and Revo 3031 093 Copper H20 Photo are more similar. Though I guess it's almost impossible to get the "solution" I've found some...

    Slim fit polo shirts. Suggestions?

I like to dress polo shirts in summertime and my first "important" polo was a regular fit Lacoste but it fit too "boxy", if you know what I mean, though shoulders length was right. Then I tried Fred Perry and it fit me perfectly. I think the "style" can be defined "ML1200" because that's the...

    Sober sunglasses by you

I know "sober" it's a subjective matter so I'll ask you no more than your personal opinion. I'd like to get a very serious, sober, not eye-catching (...and so on) pair of sunglasses. I discarded the usual fashion models as wayfarer and the sporty ones too and I think one of the most sober shape...

    Comfortable and sober shoes

I'm looking for very comfortable shoes to dress in spring and fall mostly for walking but I want to use them in a quite formal environment as an office is. They've not to be elegant nor sporty and I'd prefer they'd be made of leather. My limit is around 100$ and I don't care about brands and...

    Great sunglasses for small heads

Hi guys, my head's girth is 21.26" and it's "small" according to this chart I'm looking for a pair of sunglasses possibly with good lenses, I mean Maui Jims, Serengetis, Persols and other (few) hi-end lenses quality brands, nevermind the frame or the "fame". Opticians from my area haven't got...

What tie with a dark gray pinstripe suit?

Hi people :) I've to go to another marriage and I'd like to dress this pinstripe again so I've another question for the tie. I've looked for a brown one with small pin dots like this one but I couldn't find anyone neither on the web (shipping from europe) nor in shops around my home. So I'd...

Sunglasses ID: Al Pacino in "Heat"

Hi people :), I just want to ask you if you can identify sunglasses model dressed by Al Pacino in the movie "Heat" (playing Lt. Vincent Hanna). These are some pics of the sunglasses You can see A.P. and his sunglasses in movement here starting from 4.43. Enjoy the scene and sunglasses too :D

Opinions on lenses shape - A matter of genre

Of course but this was not the question :) I just asked if one of the shapes (nevermind the frames) was more suitable for a woman than a man so independently of my face. Just to give an example of some strictly feminine lenses
