RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Nice one @'patanoster. You can't go wrong with either but it sounds like you've made a good call. When it does come time for you to look into a brown, be sure to give the Dark Tan some consideration alongside the Chestnut (if leather is the go). Suede: every colour is awesome.

I’d just like them to be consistent! I bought some of the casual barton boots on a whim and even they came with the dust bags! Crazy. At the price point the boots should definitely all come with dust bags (in my opinion). Wowsers, great photog setup you’ve got there. Cool shot

...and that’s my favourite suede colour! You’re on a roll, man! It’s funny you mention the dust bags. Between my wife and I we’ve bought a few pairs of boots in recent years and it is totally random whether or not dust bags are included. RMW need to get more consistent on that.

Thanks for the picture, man. It's awesome! And congrats on the Dark Tan. It's so underrated!!!

Yep. I gave my brother my craftsman because of similar fit issues. I’m all Turnout and Macquarie now

@InaYan the toe box will not give. That is in my experience as well as many other wearers here on SF

Agree totally! One person's perfect fit could well be another one's too loose/tight. Good point. That said, I hate myself for hanging onto stuff I wasn't sure of too begin with. I've been guilty of that too many times.

If you conclude that 6.5 is THE length for you, you have the G width option, but also the F width option (the narrowest Craftsman width) via MTO. Your perfect boot does exist.

I just noted you went from 6H (slightly short but good width) to 6.5H. Your Goldilocks may be 6.5G (up the half size in length, and down one size in width (H>G). Never give up lol

Would you explore the made to order route? Too have one foot slightly longer than the other and ended up trying a half size difference between L/R. MTO not always convenient depending on where you are in the world though. In terms of a perfect fit, I have 4 pairs of RMs, and they are all of...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Hey Stook, JimC is spot on in that the selections of sole etc likely play a larger role stylistically in the choices of these boots by female customers. I’ll try to shed some light on sizing courtesy of my wife. The RMW ‘unisex’ boots are not built on any gender specific last (like the Adelaide...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Man, I hadn’t heard that! But today RMW ran a bit of a train wreck ‘ask me anything’ via FB, and one of the questions (unanswered at the time) was ‘why have you cancelled MTO. I would also make sense with the reasonably recent ‘Made on Demand’ offering that had me scratching my head until I read...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Hi mate. My experience with them is/was that their lengths are reasonable similar. I could juuuust feel the tip of my (slightly longer) left foot on both the Craftsman and Rickaby. So that might be a good starting point (being happy with the length of your foot inside your Craftsman. Width isn’t...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Visited the Sydney outlet store (Homebush) fr the first time in ages today. $449 for factory seconds, and $499 for seasonal run-outs? no thanks. I'd be just as happy paying retail and not having the ankle hole-punch (in the case of the seconds). Similar story for the ladies boots (price wise)...
