Hi everyone! After years of refusing to use hair products, I finally caved in recently and bought myself some Goldwell Trendline Wild Supervisor Clay Modelling Paste. I recently came across this guy's hairstyle that I really like: - http://www.groundnpound.org/images/n...ges/babalu.gif - http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation...ts/image_1.jpg I really dig how it looks messy and spiky, but you don't get the sense that he spent hours poring over it. For the life of me, I can't get my hair to do that. I'm Asian, if that makes any difference. Any advice on how I can get my hair to do that? Thanks so much, guys!

1.grow your hair out for a couple months
2. get a fashionable 'marine' cut - super short sides, tapered to almost a euro-mullet on top
3. throw in product, and literally grab your hair and pull it forward for the messy styling.

Yeah grow it out until it's like 3 inches long on the top, then go to a stylist and get it really short on the sides/back and textured (keeping it long) on the front. He may get it cut with a razor on the top too, not scissors.

Your hair looks to fine/straight (asian). I highly doubt you'd be able to pull that kind of hair style off to look identical to Sobral's. But, who knows. If you manage to get it to work out, post pics! haha.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. my hair is very fine/straight.

Given my different hair type, how exactly would I mold the hair to look as similarly as possible to Sobral's? The thing is, my hair naturally goes into bowl cut mode when I try to grow it out, so I usually keep it short. Thus, if I grabbed it with the product and pulled it forward, it wouldn't be going against the grain of my hair, so it wouldn't spike like that. Not sure if that makes sense.

All the advice is appreciated, guys! Thanks so much.
