gekko did get in trouble, thats how bud dodged most of the heat. At the end of the movie Bud wears a wire and tapes the part where Gekko confronts him and smacks him around.
I forget the exact reason why, but it had something to do with insider trader, that whole part was a little 'Hollywood'.

I disagree. I haven't seen his last few, but The Doors, Natural Born Killers, and Any Given Sunday were all post-1990, and I really liked all three. U-Turn was pretty good too, and I remember liking JFK, though I haven't seen it in quite some time.Originally Posted by MrG

I'm worried that this film will be a disaster, especially given some of the cast.
On the other hand, it's been so long since the first one that even if this new instalment were to be terrible, it wouldn't reflect poorly on the original (similarly to Terminator 3 and beyond).

I watched the first today at work on netflix, I think Gekko had some of the best monologues I've heard. I got excited when I heard about the sequel (ever since I heard about it in 07) but No Bud Fox is making me temper my expectations.

I really love the first film so I'm a bit uncertain about this one. Should I watch when it comes out or not? If it's anything below "very good", it's a disaster. And I can't really imagine the fruit of current project being very good.
