The best "movie skinheads" are in 16 Years of Alcohol. Totally authentic in many ways, and it's not even a skinhead movie per se

+1

Out of movies I've recently watched (or re-watched, as in this case), I like Travis Buckle's early cowboy-ish looks, in which De Niro actually wore Paul Schrader's, the script writer, clothes.

+1 on Taxi Driver. I still want to buy a large-ish military jacket because of that movie. Still haven't found the right one yet, but I'm tempted to buy one vintage through a website. EDIT:

Really? With the exception of the guy on the right, I would venture to say that each character in the movie takes great pride in his grooming and manner of dress. Ok, so it is a uniform, but they certainly take way more pride in the way they dress than most Target employees (no offense, Robbie). I'm not going to debate the style of skinhead and subculture aesthetics, but the film itself has been one of the most accurate in terms of skinhead style. Watching it made me remember older days and want to reincorporate that style into what I wear currently.

Not a film but Robert Wilonsky who hosts "Ultimate Trailer Show" on HDNet would be highly SF approved. Lots of denim and chambray.

He wore a really sharp deim workshirt with stylized breast pockets last week. I didn't recognize it off the bat but I am sure several people here would have no trouble.

Le Samourai is the most stylish film ever.

However, I am not a French gangster so I dress nothing like anyone in the movie.

I like 50's French new-wave for inspiration--I like the buttoned up but whimsical looks...

...but I don't cop looks from movies. On set pictures of Paul Newman on the other hand...
