Excellent observations.

I always considered the Mao jacket derivative of the Nehru jacket, and the clue might very well lie in the age old emperor vs maharaja question.

I will ponder this on my own throne.

What do you consider an American shoulder? Our history is awash with emuluative and adoptive styles until we hit the RTW fu of Brooks Bros.

Nino Corvato (who is a high end, reputable and high priced tailor) is the only clothing maker on the planet that I know of that has that fusion.

No other clothing maker on the planet, regardless of the caliber of that clothing maker or anything else, even remotely has a fusion like that, I am afraid.

I have preppy sartorial roots, and that shoulder's name is a misnomer. And the only good bespoke iteration of that shoulder I've seen is vintage Chipp...even then, its starting to look more A&S.

But, I did see a great trio of guys in their 70s coming out of the Union Club last Friday after I had lunch at Locke-Ober, but those guys were pure 70s Golden Fleece.

I'll go for Egyptian tailoring over Savile Row or Naples any day.
