I plan on ordering both dress and casual linen shirts for this summer.

The main question I have is what collars I should consider. Anything else?

Thanks.

For the last 4 or 5 summers, I been wearing RL linen shirts for casual wear. I get them at the end of the season for $30 - 50.

They use to some nice short sleeved linen shirts. Now most of the linen short- sleeved shirts are blended with silk.

They are great for hot weather, but do not wear them around a campfire or beach fire. Flying sparks burn large holes in linen shirts (about half an inch wide).

Cut? Usually linen shirts are cut baggier then dress shirts.

An over fitted linen shirt would seem to defeat the purpose.

I have a few Kiton linen shirts with a spread collar that are very nice. The spread is a lot neater and doesn't flop around like long points.

My other linen shirts are button downs.

I'm planning to order a linen-cotton shirt with a one piece spread collar. I already have the fabric, a nice light green from G&R.

+1 for the one piece/ pj collar/ paul stuart cooper collar type

i'd actually get them short sleeved and squared at the bottom so i can wear them untucked just like mr monty's last shirt.

I use the same (spread) collar as for my other shirts, but with less/no interlining. Like the first one in Mr Monty's post.

I picked up this from BB during the recent spring sale (slim fit): http://s7d4.scene7.com/is/image/Broo...E?$thumbnails$ Very, very pleased with it. Nice slim fit, but not too tight. Sleeves in XL are actually 36, which is not what I usually find. (I generally buy the XL Tall at Nordies.) Liked it so much I ordered a plain white just now. Set for the summer!!
