There is nothing that says that the buttons on a suit have to match the color of the cloth, either in type (blue on blue) or tone (dark on dark). Buttons typically do match, but this is not a requirement.

The first solid gray RTW suit I ever bought (Polo) had brown horn buttons. I rather liked them. I never thought it made the suit look unsuity. I have often seen blue suits with brown horn buttons, though until this one, I never owned one. It's just not that uncommon.

The combination of 3 patch, swelled edges, and brown horn may be uncommon, but I still don't think it disqualifies the jacket as a suit coat.

When we advise noobs not to wear suit coats as odd jackets, we are talking about coats that are totally "suit" in every respect: clear cut worsted (no surface interest), dark color, striped (maybe), flapped or besom pockets, plain edges, etc. Jackets from tweed or linen or in some cases flannel suits have always been wearable as odd pieces. All I did was stretch that to fresco.

That said, nobody has to like it.

+1 on the windowpanes, roped shoulders and band-aid colored shoes.

I thought of more stuff I hate:

Bowties not worn with dinner jackets
Sleeve plackets with buttons
Flap pockets on odd jackets
Flapped patch pockets on odd jackets
Black stripes on shirts--including the really fine ones that outline other stripes
Contrast stitching
Plackets on shirt fronts
Button boots
Gallo multi-color knit ties
Patterned sweaters
'Stacking'
Any degree of 'stacking'
Designs on jean pockets
Non-jeans cut like jeans
Grey odd jackets
Beige corduroy
Tassel loafers
Going without a tie and leaving only the top shirt button undone
Wearing an odd jacket without a tie/neckerchief/ascot
'Interview' ties
One-sided cufflinks
Skull motifs
Pink
Nomos and Stowa watches
Paul Stuart ties
Zip-up sweaters
Flat front suit trousers
Three-piece suits
Smiling for the camera

There will be more later.

I think its safe to say everything you do not do yourself, you hate.

I dont really hate anything per say, i think most of it has a time and a place, or personality that it goes well with.

Isn't that natural? Otherwise, I would do it.

Though I don't agree with the majority of them, it is a good list because most of the things you mentioned are actually popular with most forum members. I'm with you on the band aid colored shoes btw.
