I always thought it was a woman's store but recently realized there's a men's section. They seem to carry semi-slim fitting flashy shirts and some more formal stuff. The prices are more or less the gap maybe a bit more expansive.

Anyone know of them how is the quality for the price?

Take it from lots of personal experience, stay away, far far away. Their stuff is flashy junk. Tonnes of synthetics, crap construction, and even if it's got a cheap price tag, it's still not worth it. don't fall for the sale trap. I've only regretted the few things I bought there many years ago

It's all teenager club wear; and it's crap to boot! Stay far away from it. Better yet, firebomb the store the next time you pass by.

Wow. The last time I was in there buying stuff I was 14 and didn't know any better. I'm not surprised their clothes (both mens and womens) are all made in China now. Back in the 90s most of it was still made in Canada but with synthetic or synthetic-blended materials.

Interestingly enough the stuff I have are still in my possession but never worn since my mid-teens. Overall they've held up pretty well. This is the Canadian made stuff mind you; I have no idea how the Chinese stuff would hold up. If anything, listen to your peers and stay away. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

There's one in one of the malls near me; it looks like every New Jersey club-goer decided to put their wardrobes on hangers and stick them inside.

Entirely junk. That said, I have a button-down shrit I got from my pre-SF days sitting in my dresser that, though it's synthetic crap, has a great fit and that one day I hope to have copied. Into non-****** shirts.

I'll never forget buying a cream colored double-breasted polyester 'Miami Vice' suit at Le Chateau, just -after- the Miami Vice craze finished. A most laughable blunder on my part. I defiantly wore it another 2 years to 'get my moneys worth' out of it. I lost count of how many laughed at me. At least it entertained all who saw me in it.
One footnote of trivia to the OP >> 'Le Chateau' is french for 'The Castle'.

I'll be a SF pariah... I currently buy my shirts exclusively from le Chateau.

- Most of my stuff is made in Turkey and runs $60-75CAD per shirt.
- The fabrics range from meh to just okay. Generally cotton/poly blends.
- Subtle colours are the exception.... my latest purchases have been white, lilac, and pink/salmon.
- The fit is excellent, which was not the case 2-3 years ago.
- No non-iron coatings which I'm allergic too.
- Quality is on par with Gap and BR... actually probably a bit better.
- Pricing is generally no better at the outlets.

That said, for the same price, you can get shirts in similar quality fabrics from TailorStore.

Sorry dude, Le Crapeau is nowhere near the quality of most BR.

+1. BR has some pretty decent mid-level stuff (pima Ts, socks, shorts, outerwear)... Le Chateau has very poorly put together stuff. My friend shops there and I occasionally venture in to take a look at the lime green dress shirts and pink horizontal striped fedora hats and it's all junk, not to mention devised by someone on acid.
