What kind of a lapel is this?

I kind of like this suit, but the lapels strikes me as unusual, both how rounded they are, and how the lower tip sticks out beyond the upper one. Is it specific to some designers or a recent fad that I missed? The maker is Rene Lezard, made in Romania. I don't think it would be appropriate for business but I would wear it to social functions. Any experts on modern suits?

More formal than a notched lapel, but perfectly acceptable to wear to work - though you may be viewed as eccentric if working in a conservative setting.

Interesting. It's kind of a hybrid of Gay Talese's lamb's ears collar, a modernized lark's tongue collar, and a plain-vanilla notch lapel.

Shows you why it's misleading to call these things "__ lapels." All the action in that thing is in the collar, not the lapel.

As others have suggested, it conflicts with the tailored coat's aim of presenting the face. Draws the eye down to his biceps, or something.
