I am looking to buy a number of cases of NV champagne for my daughters wedding. These are some of the brands currently on sale widely in the UK. Which do you think is best value:
Pol Roger
Loius Roederer
Bollinger
Moet & Chandon
Veuve Clicquot
Laurent Perrier
Mumm
Perrier Jouet
Tattinger
Alfred Gratien
Deutz
Ruinart

In the UK the NV standard cuvees of these brands sell at between £20 and £30 per bottle.

Tattinger, Bollinger, Pol Roger all stand out for me. I haven't had a few of the others so I can't comment.

I was pleasantly surprised by a bottle of Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial I had a few weeks ago. I'm not a big fan of Veuve. It's just sort of blah. It could be that I've just had to much of it (it seems to be the standard champagne in NY).

I personally would go for Pol Roger or Ruinart. The Ruinart bottles are prettier, which may tilt the decision in its favor for a special occasion like a wedding.

I've always enjoyed Tattinger and Perrier Jouet. Veuve Clicquot has a kind of wheaty-ness to it that I don't really care for.

but more importanly, what is the happy couple going to drink? Surely not the same stuff as everybody else. Perhaps some Salon? Krug?
