A loooong request to have your thoughts on my first pair of boots. Please read and respond/ direct me to the right way if you have time
Having lived all my life in cities where there's hardly any rain and no snow at all, got moved to this new city recently with lots of rain and some light snow. Hence thinking about having a pair of boots for office wear. I have never worn boots in office before, and don't exactly know why leather boots are even needed at/to office. I do have some casual boots but wear them mostly because I like their look and in dry environment - I mean not due to weather conditions and obviously not to office.
I even don't know if that's a good idea to wear leather boots at/ to work at all, esp thinking if they would be comfortable enough for wearing whole day at work. I can think about going for calf with suede but not sure that will still keep the boots as a suitable option for office wear. And then they are bound to get wet the very first day as I'd be using bus and train for transport, and not quite thrilled with putting swims or changing boots at office (looks too dandy, but maybe acceptable here due to weather). They get wet and I can't wear them next day or so.
I think there will be a trade off here but will like to hear from people who are experienced in wearing boots to offices in rain. Currently I have in mind an all black calf balmoral boot with a toe cap and no broguing in a sleeker last but a bit heavier/solid looking weather appropriate sole. I have been lightly checking online and the closest pair I could find is EG shannon - still not in my ideal configuration and I guess its going to be an elaborate process to acquire them anyways. I wear 7E in JL 7k if that matters. We all know first time is never perfect, any recommendations are more than welcome to start this journey - in boots!
