I think you overestimate the influence of SF.
Very true. But my larger point remains the same. If all these style-conscious teenagers and college kids on SF (admittedly a tiny subset of all kids) acquire the same "groupthink" aesthetic, doesn't this decrease the overall clothing variations that can exist out there? Will it limit future style experimentations because baggy jeans are always bad and ed hardy shirts are always lame?
I've always believed that in order to have really good style, you need to have really bad style first. There's a learning curve involved while figuring out your individual tastes. A "blank slate" style of APC jeans and AA shirts seems, to me, to undermine this learning process.
I'm not asserting that I'm totally right here, but can someone provide a counterpoint to my thinking?
