Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a raw/selvage jean with a modern/athetic fit, hopefully <200$. Mid rise.

A local jean shop/denim heads recommended NS at -3 and promised they would stretch out. I really like how they look. I got them, they didn't work out.

So I'm reaching out to the experts for advice.

Let the public shaming begin.

Clown pants - apparently I have an ass/thighs from skiing. To the APC NS lovers out there, I'm very, very sorry.

This is me in my 7FAMs that I bought before discovering this forum. They are quite comfortable, I think the fit is good but a touch loose in the waist.

Jean recommendations very appreciated, non-jean recommendations better be funny.
Thanks.

New Standards are great for most body types. Just don't size down 3. They are not supposed to fit like they do in your picture. Try sizing down 1 or 2.

For future questions, please use the I have a jean thread.

don't let anyone give you a hard time just because you're wearing women's jeans. to each his or her own.

anyway, get the ns in one size down.

You could try the Rescue also. Sadly enough, I can't think of that many jeans below $200 :/ What's happened to me.

Crate may be a good option.

I am similarly built and my Standards (not new standard) sized 2 down are great. They are higher rise than the NS.

My bad, I was trying to figure out what thread I was supposed to post in. I searched for jean and recommend, no luck. Maybe I should read those stickied threads.

You could always try the KMW 1950 or Nudie Regular Alf Dry Selvage or even the 5EP LDB as all are somewhat more generous in the thigh. The Nudies will probably be most similar in fit to your 7s (which look a size big, but seem to fit you well). All retail for just north of $250, but are available at Denim Bar for 20% off, bringing them to $200-220.

Yup...if you're probably looking at a Crate James, Hamilton if you're looking for something a bit looser.

The gigantic cuffs in this picture are probably not helping the situation at the bottom. If you can't get rid of these (can't return them, don't want to bother selling them), then you should consider getting them hemmed so you don't have to cuff.

I believe the rescue would probably be a perfect fit and the right price for you. does the local shop carry this style? I have found that a lot of shops only carry the NS and the Rescue works for a lot of people.

Yeah, that's what I wanted originally.

Unfortunately there's a worldwide shortage of Rescue 28s, including the local store, where they would sell for 320$ cad + 12% tax.
