Wow... I went to the "Winter Antique Show" today in New York City. (67th street at Park Avenue). An antique show would normally bore me to tears for the most part. This... was stunningly spectacular. $500,000 paintings that are amazing. Framed autograph photos from Winston Churchill, Hendrix, Beatles. A german crossbow from the 1700s (?) that was so ornate I can't even describe it.

If you are in NYC and want to see amazing artistry, style, flair (and a few damn hot looking women, too) you should definitely go. There's a $20 "cover" charge.

And oh... I took a date, so to speak. The combination of the art, classical music (through a decent sound system) and a few other things had a very positive effect on her.

So it was a good day... (and I'm posting at 4am... )

If you liked that German crossbow, you'll love this dealer: http://www.peterfiner.com/ Finer antiques, haha. (Edit; come to think of it, I think Finer Sr and Jr exhibit there, might just be the same one you've seen.)

Yes - it was there "booth"/exhibit at which I saw the crossbow. Amazing stuff. Highly recommended to anyone (their gallery and the show)
