Good pants to wear in a pinch in a dorm room or a quick walk outside your dorm?

I am eating nachos in my underwear and a t shirt in my dorm then realize I need to go downstairs to print something. Or grab a burrito. Now it is time to throw on some clothes.

Or I am just walking around my dorm room and don't feel like wearing shoes. I'm barefoot or wearing socks.

Maybe I am wearing my school's t shirt or I am wearing a v neck t shirt or a henley shirt. I'll most likely be barefoot. I've found that my trousers and my sweatpants are too long for barefoot walking. I can roll them up but they quickly fall down and become sloppy again. I don't like tight pants that are shorter than long pants because I am slightly overweight and sometimes I just won't be able to fit into them.

Basically I've been walking around with a t shirt and sweatpants or sports pants or trousers that could trip me at any time. Dust on the bottom of my pants too. I am trying to fix this. Some short pants that show a bit of my ankle and let me walk around barefoot and look like trousers maybe.

What kinds of pants would be good for leaving your dorm room for a few minutes or for walking around in your dorm room barefoot?

Here is my idea, hopefully it can clarify if my notion of what to wear to begin with is sensible:
I want something that looks like trousers but I don't have to worry about a belt. In my imagination a pair of slightly tighter trey trousers with a belt permanently stuck in it would be good or if there are better options please tell me.

I am serious.

Basically trying to find something that looks like trousers or khakis but don't have to worry about belt because it has some way to tighten it at the top, and it is a bit shorter so I can walk around barefoot.

Something that is easy to throw on with say a henley and be barefoot and I don't look like an absolutely slob or a kid when walking around in the dorm.

What kind of pants look okay when you are barefoot? that look like slacks or trousers but you can tighten it at the top without a belt?

One solution I thought was just buying some slacks that are purposedly too short for me so I can walk around barefoot. But then there is still the issue of tightening it at the top unless I want to permanently stick a belt inside of it.

I just hate sweatpants and pajama pants they look terrible when I walk around in a dorm. Overly long, loose, baggy

I just google technical pants and they all look completely different. How are technical pants actually defined? Don't you still need to wear a belt to tighten them around your belly.
