I recently bought these excellent boots but the fit does not work for me.
They are made in Italy by FRATELLI BORGIOLI for RIDER BOOT COMPANY
They are the OSLO model in antique smoke calf leather
Comes with Rider Boot shoe bags.
They are tagged size 11 but they run generous in length
The inside length measures 11 3/4", could work for 11.5 maybe.
The problem is I have a high instep and have an impossible time getting my foot into these shoes, even when they are completely unlaced. I forced my foot into one shoe and slightly creased the leather.
The rest of the description I copied from the original Rider Boot site
Sorry Ron!
The 'Oslo' is a true 'Treccia' stitched, Norvegese construction, handsewn in the Goodyear method.
Chukka boot available here in the handfinished 'Miro' calfskin.
Treccia is often referred to in the States as 'Norvegese', but this would be, technically, incorrect.
'Treccia' refers to the triple, intertwined, heavy linen thread that you see along the base of the upper, and that is handstitched thru the upper into a feather (ridge) cut into the underside of the insole. 'Norvegese' refers to the upper being pulled out (as opposed to under)away from the last where another stitch connects the upper to a full leather midsole, which is stitched thru to the outsole. As you can tell, a very complicated, labor intensive and extremely durable construction. To finish it off, we have hand sponged and stained the French Calf uppers in an antiqued effect.
The chisel-toed last used on the 'Oslo' highlights both the work and the finishing.
I am seriously bummed that these boots don't work for me. Original cost was $1375
You can have them for $650 shipped (US only) International buyers contact me for shipping cost.
