I bought a jacket in a charity shop for very cheap but they did not have the trousers to match.

What is the best way to find the matching trousers? Is there a website that specialises in such things?

It is a Christian Dior Monsieur double breasted charcoal jacket. I have attached some images of the material and the info on the inside pocket.

Hope you guys can help.

You would have a better chance of banging Anne Hathaway.

This is nearly impossible for a vintage item.

True, it would be hard even if the next season the mill made more of the fabric. Usually if it wasn't from the same roll there can be subtle color inconsistencies that will make matching not work. So, if it is vintage I would just wear it as an odd jacket.

As the others have said, it would be impossible to get matching trousers for that jacket to make a suit. And unfortunately... since it is pinstriped it might not make much of an odd jacket either...

If you do decide to wear it as an odd jacket, make sure you wear clearly different pants, so it doesn't look like you tried to make a suit but failed...

Thanks for the quick replies.

When wearing it as an odd jacket, which colours would go with a charcoal grey?

Also, would it be worth having the buttons changed to a dark metal button in this case?

Regards,

Tom

I would say medium grey, or khaki, or camel or something... Maybe navy?

For me this kind of very fine pinstripes clearly say suit and are the most "anti-odd-jacket" that I can think of. I love odd jackets, even some striped ones, but definitily not with this kind of stripes. Sorry, but that is all I can say. If I would be forced to wear it for some reason, I would wear it with denim.

It looks like its getting dumped guys.

Il give it a try with chinos, denim etc. but it looks like its going in the bin.

Its a shame because the material feels great and the fit around the shoulders/chest is great so my tailor would do a wonderful job

It's tough to find a pair of pants that perfectly match a jacket without buying them together. In the case of THAT jacket, it's going to be very tough. That jacket clearly came as a part of a suit, so it's going to be hard to find separate matching pants. That's the risk that you run when you buy "orphaned" suit jackets, especially those that are striped. Matching color and texture can be difficult but finding two matching, striped suit separates is almost impossible.

Wearing a striped "orphan" with anything other than matching pants is, dare I say, stupid.
