I was going through the Sartorialist and saw some ads for Hickey Freeman, but it wasn't the normal traditional type stuff, it was more edgier. Bold colors, fashion-forward styles, etc. I think they were for either Barney's for Bergdorf Goodman.....but I'm curious, does anyone know of an online retailer that carries this line? I live in Minnesota, so I'm no where near a Barney's nor a BG.

I have a very cool shawl collar sweater from them. I actually like some of their stuff. A lot is too gimmicky, I agree

Random drug test will suddenly seem much less random.

The designer of Hickey is usally at the sample sale held at the building on 5th. He is a younger guy who explained that he was targeting the "edgier" customer who thinks regular Hickey is old man. Either way, that stuff is to slim fit for me.

There is a bit available through the website; but, Saks, Bergdorf and Jeffery also carry Hickey.

It's not bad stuff, but as far as I can tell not as well made as the regular Hickey Freeman stuff. Cloth can be interesting, but it's not great. I nearly bought a patch madras jacket at the last sample sale, but already had enough stuff to carry (and pay for). Edit. Here's an example. Jacket could be pretty cool, but, presumably to get it down to $800 from their usual $1000+ for sportcoats, the material is 55% cotton, 45% viscose.

I tried on a few OCBDs by them last winter Bloomies sale and I liked it. The price was low enough to not give a 2nd thought, but I didnt end up getting anything. Sportcoats look great but a bit high priced

Last season seemed to look better, lot of ivy influenced gear. Better than the stoner-surfer-preppy thing they've got going on now.

I think the stoner pot embroidered stuff was really last year. They have mostly moved away from it this year

I have the grey one. Got it during one of their deep discount online sales. Some of their basics are really nice for those who like a more fitted look. They're just too expensive at retail prices

That one exactly. The grey is a bit lighter on mine but that may just be the picture
