So to be clear, Porsche will continue to offer naturally aspirated, fully gas, manual transmission variants of the 911?

The annual end of that combination discussion always reminds me of the End of the World episode of Parks & Rec.

I'm glad Porsche fixed the rear end of the 911. The 992.1 rear was total garbage without the sports package. Now it has more of the GT3 Touring rear-end.

Went to a cars and coffee event this weekend and realized something about various cars owners. When looking at Porsche GT cars for sale on forums or auction sites, potential buyers always ask for a DME report (over-rev) and seem to poo-poo level 1s which are just hitting the rev limiter even though it is a race car. You then have the rev happy Lambo owners who bounce off the rev limiter to impress kids...funny how various owners act.

It's ridiculous that Guards Red is now a $1500 option, and still free on the 718.
Only white and black are free while darker black and metallic grey/silver cost $800. Anything fun now costs minimum $1500. Porsche really trying to squeeze their customers even more.

Audi announces a couple of EU only special editions today as well. RS4 Avant 25 Year Edition in Imola Yellow and the RS5 Sportback Performance. Limited to 250 units each worldwide and equipped with the 2.9L twin turbo V6 w/a slight 20HP increase over the standard RS models that use that engine.

This 992.2 is more or less what i expected to see - the biggest changes were supposed to be the full analog gauge delete and hybridization, which came to pass exactly. I like the front bumper light shave and the new rear light, but honestly didn’t notice those changes until the presenter pointed them out.

Gonna be really really important to experience how the hybrid drives and sounds. Watershed moment for the model. I hope Porsche makes sure it puts a lot of demo units in showrooms - no way in hell a lot of Porsche owners buy this on faith

I'm expecting the base Carrera to be a huge seller compared to the GTS

Correcting myself in my post above, one significant thing that I wasn’t expecting was the active aero vanes. Probably done to improve ‘Ring time more than anything, but it’s interesting.

This is like helmets in football vs rugby.

Because rugby doesn't have helmets, players are forced to learn better technique on how to tackle/don't launch/etc. NFL helmets give the air of invincibility so players YOLO head first leading to neck/spinal injuries

I would argue that cars are too powerful and the roads are designed to support driving at ludicrous speeds. Also, they are exceedingly dangerous for everyone not inside them.

Kind of agree. As cool as the new AM Vantage/DB12, Porsche 992.2, Mercedes AMG GT looks, do we really need some 700HP+ car that can go 0-60 in under 3.2 seconds?

Larger wing + more horsepower + better aero + louder exhaust + better ring time = more better.
