To me this looks like bubbles that you could get on a cheap fused jacket. What does it look like to you guys?

Looks like you said.
But how can that be on a supposed full canvas SuitSupply jacket that I picked up from the store today. It has never been worn other than testing. They tried to re-press the lapel because I wanted an earlier break, could they have somehow fucked it up with steam?

Probably a problem in manufacture. You are entitled to full refund.
I never liked SS, but that was their style and the posers in their
San Francisco store. Not the quality.

Why not open it up and see if it truly is canvas'ed?. Snip the lining free at the bottom for a couple of inches, enough to get your hand in, reach up and feel for canvas.

Or, after snipping, shine a pen light in to look. A fully canvas'ed jacket will have the canvas go straight to the bottom.

  1. You cant change the break on a lapel. A line of tape establishes the lapel line, so any pressing is only going to have a minor impact, probably for the worse.
  2. Many half and full canvas jackets will also have some fusible material in the chest. Sometimes its to stabilize very lightweight cloth, sometimes for other reasons.
  3. It appears that this jacket just needs a proper pressing and will be fine.

It certainly is fully canvassed, it’s a half lined jacket so I can easily peek inside.

A line of tape you say? Then I really don’t understand why they would call this lapel 3r2,5 when it’s a 3r2, if it’s as easy as tape.

Could be that 2 of the 4 layers are fused and the glue has bubbled up.

Either way I’m returning it. At $620 it was very cheap for being full canvas and VBC fabric, but I have some brilliant RTW 3r2,5 suits and jackets that unfortunately completely spoiled me and I’m finding it very hard to accept anything less.

You can’t change the break once set, or I’ve never seen it done where it wasn’t apparent.
