Black blazer and pants question

recently bought the following theory blazer:

note that it has a slight sheen

my question is whether i can wear this blazer with black pants that don't exactly match the black of the blazer

my black pants are from bonobos

all in all, i dont think anyone would notice enough to comment. especially at night. other than how it all fits and how it complements your look.

most here will say you cannot do it. or place a popcorn eating smiley.

but i have a gabardine black pants that i pair up with a black herringbone isaia jacket and get complements all the time. it is distinguishable enough that everyone knows it is not a suit but a coat and pant. but they complement on the silhouette and sleekness of the look.

Might be a little drab. People on here don't like black, but I think a black blazer can work out okay if it fits well, and is of nice quality. I would be more inclined to wear it with charcoal or khaki pants to avoid the undertaker suit effect.

I don't think has the potential you may think it has initially.

It is never good to mix black pants and jacket, you will never get the shades exactly right and it will just come off looking like a cheap old suit.
