Altering a baracuta G4

I have a baracuta wax cotton jacket that I really like that fits me in the shoulders pretty well. However, the waist and back area is a little big. I was thinking about taking it into my tailor.

Does anybody have experience altering a baracuta jacket? Is it easy for an alterations place to do and how much should it cost? Will altering ruin the waterproof quality?

I believe my jacket is a g4 because it doesn't have the elasticised bottom or cuffs.

I have had two Baracuta Jackets altered with good results. I took in the back and sides - it costs about $40.
