Brooks Brothers: Trendy for Young Professionals

Why is anyone playing along with this thread? If BB want to advertise, they should pay for it. If they want customer feedback, they should pay for a focus group. Whichever, they shouldn't clog up SF with this crap ... and if we play along, then others will start doing it too.

    The Hong Kong Tailors Thread

I got my first Chan suit in 5 days also. Day 1 was fabric selection then Day 2, I got a basted fitting then Day 4 a final fitting and took it home that day. My second suit was done on tour and i thought they nailed it on the second suit. Yeah, I was kind of surprised at the second, given that...

    The Hong Kong Tailors Thread

It depends on how many fittings you want. For the most part I believe they can finish it in 5 days. For my first Chan suit and sportscoat, I had about that long in HK. I was measured and chose fabric on day 1, came back day 3 for a basted fitting and again on day 5 for a second fitting. But I...

Splurging on First Grenadine(s) - Recommendations?

I have both the burgundy and the bitter chocolate grenadines from Sam Hober. If I had to choose just one, I'd go for the chocolate. They perform a similar role, but I think the chocolate is just a little less commonplace. But do talk to David about construction, length, etc. You won't regret it!

How do other guys here handle the cycle to work/dress like you care situation? Are you packing the day's outfit and "portaging" it to work? (ironing on your desk perhaps?) Are you PTing on mondays with enough stuff in a bag to last the rest of the week? Are you maintaining a separate set of...

    Question about Filson 257 briefcase

thonga - Cranes charged my $42 to ship a 257 to Australia, which I thought was OK. Just email using the contact form on the Cranes site (or call), and as others have said, be sure to mention SF.

Does anyone know of a decent tailor in Sydney? Try here: http://www.mrtailor.com.au/ I had him downsize an ill-fitting jacket by redoing the shoulders. Not the cheapest, but it was reasonably technical work that could have ruined the jacket if he got it wrong. He was once the in-house...

Bespoke delivery in a few days: what could go wrong?

Seriously, what is wrong with blue suit, blue lining? Stripey sleeves of course. OK, so I was planning to pop my SF posting cherry next week when I my first-ever bespoke suit is finished, but now I need to ask: why do suits have stripey sleeves? I hadn't even noticed this until I was choosing...
