Overcoat fabric
Cashmere is my favorite material but camel hair is nice too. If you want wool but like a softer feel go with a blend. I would make sure it is at least 20% cashmere and the rest wool. This will soften up the feel of the coat and save a lot on money.- Har

If you have to wear the same coat everyday cashmere can be a poor choice. As a previous poster noted, it is prone to pilling and loses a great deal of it's appeal. A good wool is usually the best choice. I have a John Varvatos wool-cashmere blended coat and it's held up incredibly well. I...- Har
