    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

I've just received my first pair of Meermins - black calf oxford captoes from their classic collection. I placed my order on 15 august 2014, received confirmation of my order and a request for payment on 18 august 2014 and the shoes were shipped on 20 august 2014. My initial thoughts...

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

I'm a 8.5UK Carmina Rain. I just received a 9UK Hiro (will provide my comments in this thread in due course)... and while it's a good comfy fit (without being too roomy), I suspect that 8.5UK might have been the correct fit (assuming that the leather would stretch somewhat after a few wears).

    Good cobbler in Hong Kong?

All, The heels on my Carmina shell loafers have worn down to the leather (ie past the rubber), so I'm in need of a trustworthy cobbler to repair them. I'm currently based in Hong Kong. Can anyone recommend a good cobbler? I've searched the forum archives, but haven't found any recent and...

    The Hong Kong Tailors Thread

I've made a number of shirts from Practical Tailor. Reasonable prices and I'm satisfied with the fit. Also fairly affable chaps.

    Show us your Chan

I'm based in Hong Kong, and recently commissioned a blazer from WW Chan. Not knowing any better, I didn't specify that I wanted to work with Patrick, and so I have been working with Dik Lam instead. Dropped by the other day for my first fitting (which was not basted, for some reason), and was...

Need Advice : First Suit & Shoes On A Shoestring (?) Budget (Singapore)

I'm a lawyer working in Singapore. 1. You must wear a black suit, black shoes and a white dress shirt to court. You should also own a tie that is as black and as sober as you can find. 2. It's a pity that Iris is out of your budget. Isetan occasionally holds sales for Boss suits at their...

    First shoes, help!

I've been told that shell is considered less formal compared to calfskin. Not sure how widespread this view is, but something to bear in mind.

***The official Alden thread *** Share enthusiasm, reviews, sizing, advice, and photos.

Picked up a pair of LWBs, shell, #8, from the Alden shop in NYC, and was told by the salesperson that the shoes had been polished after being tried on by another customer, and that there was a build up of polish (Kiwi cordovan) on the shoes as a result. He gave me a small discount on the shoes...

Shoes - Herring Classic line experience

I have bought a pair of Herring churchhills. I think this is from their premier range. The leather has softened and stretched slightly, which is a relief, because the shots were a little right when I first got them. Quality wise, I think they're fairly good value, and they have excellent...

    Most comfortable dress shoes?

There must be shoe shops in Australia with a Brannock measuring device, or with staff who will be willing to help you determine your shoe size. Once you have that down, it might be easier to find shoes online.

8.5G in Church's Chetwynd = what size in Herring Chamberlain?

I'd like to buy a pair of Herring's Chamberlain, but would appreciate help with the sizing. I wear an 8.5G in Church's Chetwynd, and know from prior experience that an 8.5F in Herring's Shakespeare II (the 619 last) is a little too narrow for my feet. Given that the Chamberlain only comes in...

Anyone have information about Carmina's shoe wax and cream?

I just bought a tin of wax and a jar of cream from the Carmina boutique in Barcelona. Both the wax and the cream are labelled as Carmina, "Made in France". Does anyone know if these are rebadged products from Saphir or one of the other manufacturers of shoe care products? How do they compare...

Saphir / Medalle d'Or products in Barcelona?

I might be inclined to do that, and have them shipped to my hotel, if it is affordable enough. Where do you normally order Saphir products from, online?

Saphir / Medalle d'Or products in Barcelona?

Thanks for your reply, Nick, but I was under the impression that the parent company of Saphir was Avel. The Tarrago website makes no mention of any Saphir products.
