Jess, You are off to a great start, and your journal looks nice. I really liked the braiding on the inside, and how you tied that together to the leather - nice work. Matching laptop bag with shoes?
I think that a natural leather could be a nice compromise. Just a thought... Matching a bag colour to shoes and belt gets pretty complicated, although the Oxblook suggestion is a stroke of genius. Dark Navy might also be nice, dependent on your wardrobe... In my opinion heather grey wool is...- larryO

Yep, you've got it down to a science. Having structures and "soft" rules helps with organisation like this I think. I once made a wallet for a guy who used 5 different wallets at any one time. Does anyone carry a wallet in their bag?
I have found that it is quite common in Japan to have a "bag wallet" and a very tiny wallet that stays with your person. There are people stateside that also follow this philosophy, but they are more few and far between. What did you end up doing?- larryO
