Starting a new finance internship, "business casual," what to wear?

I'm starting a new internship soon, and the attire is "business casual." I've been for two interviews with six employees, including the CEO and all were dressed in khakis and button up shirts. I'm only 22 so I don't really want to look like an older guy. The CEO only said suits are necessary...

Employed in Hell: Rants of a Retail Worker

I"m a part time manager at a high end shoe store.......the people aren't too bad, I'd say for every rude and annoying customer there's about 3 courteous ones. I worked at the outlet one day and the experience was quite different, people were animals. I do have to say that sales bring out the...

Should I or shouldn't I buy... (clothing item)?

I found these Steve Madden boots online.. they retail for $100 and I think they look pretty good. I want to get boots for this season and my budget is about $100, I'm not sure if Steve Madden is SF approved but if they last me thru the fall and winter I'd get some value out of them.

I am not fit (a confession)

OP, I'm also going thru a similar experience. I was 215 lbs at 20, and I'm only about 5'6". Now I'm approximately 150 lbs. Up until I got to the 160 lb mark, I was strictly doing 30 minutes of cardio(interval training mostly) a day. Since 160, I've mixed in weight training(though I haven't...

Fat - But we can do something about it

My grandfather's been the same weight since he was 35, he's now 80. He eats very healthy, controls his portions, and exercises daily. His older brother is 83 and looks even better, could easily pass for some one 65. My father was 5'7 175 lbs(very built) and looked no older than 35 until he was...

How would you deal with the "wannabee baller" friend?

You need to take this guy out every weekend to gather enough material to start a blog about his shenanigans. Agreed. You might as well make some money off of him for all the troubles he's caused you

first time at a club... what to wear?

It depends on the club. For most places, you'd be safe with any shirt thats fitted, not tight but fitted and dark slim fit jeans. If you're wearing sneakers no athletic styles, stick to the more classic styles(Chuck Tylers, Puma Suedes etc..) other wise get some simple black dress shoes. I go...

    H&M and Uniqlo suits?

I have some interviews coming up and need to buy a suit. H&M and Uniqlo's suits are in my price range but I'm wondering if how they're quality and fit is(I know they're a bit slimmer which is what I'm looking for). Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent suit under $125-$130? I'm looking...

Stuff your dad or trusted older male taught you

My dad taught me how to beat up somebody twice my size when I was 10. He taught me that when I'm driving I should always know how the people around me are driving. Never start a fight, try to aviod them, and if unavoidable, use the strategies mentioned above to win the fight. He taught me to...

Does Facebook mess up your social life?

I use FB everyday. Not necessarily updating statuses or anything but checking up on things. I keep in touch with a lot of people thru facebook, make plans for parties and stuff. Being a college student it helps as well. I've gotten lost flash drives and even an ipod back because of people...

Which car to get - Land Rover LR3 vs. MDX vs. Ford Explorer?

I would go with the MDX without question. Land Rover LR3 will offer the most features and be the most luxurious, but it is also insanely unreliable. You'll have sensors and electronic mishaps on a frequent basis. Fords Explorers have generally become above average reliability wise, however...

Best, most prestigious school in the world?

Person: So where do you go to college? Me: Oh, have you heard of Princeton? Person: Well of course Me: Yeah my college is just a few miles up the road from there, it's called Rutgers. My generic response to people who ask about college career. And I'd say Harvard is definetely the most...

    Where to go in England??

You could take a drive to Cheddar, it's about a 2 hour drive from London. Also around London there's a lot of elaborate caves and tunnel systems that are open to the public if you're the exploring type, these actually end up being a lot of fun. Near the Maidenhead/Stoke Poges area the first ever...

    so im turning 21

You could go to dinner at a restauarant/lounge. Obviously they won't card if your eating dinner and then you can just stick around after as the dinner crowd moves out and it becomes more of a lounge. That's what I did when my cousin had a party in NYC, we ate dinner and around 10 moved over to...

    BBM- wtf is this s**t

I think BBM is great. There's no limit, and it works a lot faster and easier than texting. Another big plus is that you can send files and photos much faster than regular texting. I also use it to keep in touch with my cousins abroad. They all have blackberries and because there's no limitation...

Black Dress Shoes on a budget

Yeah I went to the Cole Haan and the Clarks stores but they didn't have anything that really looked good on my feet. I found these at the Calvin Klein outlet and it was the last one in my size.

Black Dress Shoes on a budget

So I got these.... there black Calvin Klein Talben loafers. Not exactly dress shoes, but the silver buckle dresses them up a little bit. They're really really comfortable and they look good with the black or gray pants I wear to work. I got them for $60 so the price wasn't so bad either.
