I'm Making a Trip to English American Tailoring for a Suit. Advice?

I Had a suit made for me at EA and I'm going for my first fitting in two weeks. I was unaware the default shoulders were so boxy and the quarters so closed. What should I do? I have a feeling the suit might come out as hercules'. I doubt you can change the shoulder now and have the quarters cut...

Were button flys invented so people dont leave their zipper open?

I think I have one pair of jeans w/ zipper fly and whenever I wear them I forget to zip up after peeing about half the time. So freaking embarrassing. With button fly I never have this problem.

    J Crew Fall/Winter 2010 Discussion

i hope you can because I plan on doing it this weekend. The only problem I see coming up is if you shorten it too much it'll look weird in comparison to button placement. I had to buy the large cause my shoulders and arms didn't fit in medium with a sweater on. With the L, the chest is a little...

MEGA PEACOAT THREAD - 61 threads merged - all Peacoat questions HERE

They sell the regular-length, regular-fit versions in store so if you order a tall or a slim fit, then yeah. I may still order the Sterlingwear and then I can compare the two side-by-side. Not sure. Where do they have "slim fit" peacoats? I only saw tall as an option. Btw, I just received...

    J Crew Fall/Winter 2010 Discussion

has anyone tried shortening the length of the peacoat? i got a small and the shoulders fit perfectly, body is a bit loose and length is a little long. Should I just get an XS? Maybe that will cut down on tailoring costs? Just worrying the shoulders won't fit... Also, I didnt know the pockets...

Ultimate noob thread - recommend me X in my wardrobe - post questions here please.

Hi all I need an everyday winter jacket. I had a peacoat but I thought it always looked too formal. I have a couple of north face jackets that I wear everyday but I would like to get something non outdoorsy. I dress casual to work with either khakis or jeans with a tshirt and sneakers so I'm...

Lots of wrinkles at inner elbow=sleeve width too small?

I've been using moderntailor and I ask for high armholes. However, they require that the drop from armhole to arm/sleeve width be at least 2 in. This makes the width at my elbows pretty narrow leading to lots of creasing. Is this a sacrifice of getting high armholes, or am I just over doing it...

    Is the bag color feminine?

That's a very suspicious disclaimer....I wonder if those who know you would beg to differ. So your suspicion of my comment must mean that you are the manliest of all men.

    Is the bag color feminine?

haha thanks everyone. I honestly could not tell... especially using photos as my only reference. If I can find it in store I think I will be purchasing it.

    Is the bag color feminine?

I feel like I'm pretty manly but feminine color schemes are very visually appealing to me. This is a piece of luggage I was interested in getting from Briggs and Riley. Please tell me if this olive color is feminine because I liked the color of it but honestly I have no idea if it is geared...

    Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures

I'm looking for a decently sized weekend bag that will hold a couple days worth of clothes, a book, sandals and maybe even my macbook... a bag where I can just toss everything in quickly and access quickly at the same time (which is why I want a bigger zipper opening). As far as quality goes...

DC: Where to get a MTM Suit?

I have been using Elio for about 2.5 years and have 5 suits and a blazer from him. I have been consistently pleased. A few things to keep in mind: 1) Elio's MTM program is very flexible. He accounts for about 30 measurements and all the standard posture corrections when fitting you. This is a...
