Don't do it. Even aside from the heavy-handed romantic marketing, I've seen a few J. Peterman things in person, and in my opinion they were noticeably lower quality than the better mall brands (J. Crew, etc.) Poor cut/fit, poor materials, and on top of that the attempted romantic/vintage...- adadan

The Defining 1990s Movie
In terms of impact on world film it's much more of a defining work than 95% of the other films that have been mentioned in this thread. For me at least it's both THE seminal work of 90s asian cinema and probably one of the most influential movies made anywhere in the world during that decade...- adadan

anyone elses buttons coming undone? i have had to reinforce the thread because a few buttons were literally hanging on by just a single thread. maybe its just with the LE chino. also, since my chinos are slightly too big, i moved the buttons a quarter of an inch in order to bring in the waist...- adadan

Yeah, I wasn't sure they would stretch that much, not being very tight to begin with, but they definitely have. I hot soaked them once/machine dried them right when I got them and then also cold soaked them once (post tailoring). Hot soaking them only shrunk them a little if at all, but...- adadan

I am thinking about getting my pair hemmed. Any suggestions or recommendations? Did you also get them tapered? Well, I did them myself, and it took me a couple of tries to get the length where I wanted it. I thought about tapering, but I was afraid changing the leg on these might not work well...- adadan

How difficult is it to tailor your own clothes?
Right on. If you've used a newer sewing machine in the past, you'll probably find the old Singer very simple and easy. Other than the bobbin winding and threading diagrams, look for the page in the manual on how to properly adjust tension. There will be a drawing that shows correctly balanced...- adadan

How difficult is it to tailor your own clothes?
Cool, sounds like you're in business. The first machine I had was a Singer 15-91, which is straight stitch only and similar to what you have (except gear drive rather than belt and a different bobbin arrangement). A nice thing about straight stitch machines is that there is less to adjust...- adadan
