**The Official Shoe Care Thread: Tutorials, Photos, etc.**

Yuya Hasegawa of Brift H. brushes a mixture of vegetable oil and vinegar on soles to protect them. Any ideas on proportions when mixing this up?

Was lucky enough to visit with Yuya Hasegawa at Brift H. during a recent visit to Tokyo and have him shine my shoes. Totally recommend it if you find yourself in Tokyo

Recommended Shoe Care Products In Singapore??

I think Saphir makes the best products on the market period. I like an American brand, Lincoln, next best. Kiwi makes a good product that is very widely available world-wide. This was from Styleforum in 2005 but is easier to read on Reddit...

Is Pebble Grain Calfskin shoes considered less formal?

Official answer - Yes, its a less formal leather. Real answer - Depends on your office. With many of the abominations that people call shoes today, just having leather is a step up. That said, smooth calfskin is what you want for conservativel business dress.

    Unpopular good value shoes brand

Not sure if you're talking store or eBay. On eBay, Brooks Brothers and Paul Stuart English-made shoes are usually undervalued. You can read more hear about who the makers are, but you can easily find C&J or Grenson Masterpiece shoes hiding under the BB/PS brand for much less.

How many meters did you swim today?

It took me a while to get comfortable with the stroke and to learn to glide. TI is all about using energy efficiently. I don't know if you've seen this video, but this is what got me started.

How many meters did you swim today?

Where is the swim camp? I have never been to the Ida Lee pool, but have to file that away for future reference. The Anne Arundel County pool out in Annapolis is also great.

    Mr. Porter Kingsman collection

Colin got it right "An Oxford shoe is characterized by shoelace eyelets tabs that are attached under the vamp, a feature termed "closed lacing". This contrasts with Derbys, or Blüchers, which have shoelace eyelets attached to the top of the vamp." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxford_shoe
