    Newbie could use some advice

I've been going through the same thing as you and am about the same age. I've been browsing this site for a few months ... it's really worth the time. Shirt Collar depends ... if you have a long neck, for example, you should have a collar that goes higher up the neck. I've ordered twice from...

AE vs Bruno Magli vs NDC suede shoe sales

I got the Maglis for $120. Only thing is that they had my regular size only (not half size smaller as recommended here) so hopefully they'll fit ok ... hopefully thicker socks will be the solution ... thanks everyone!

AE vs Bruno Magli vs NDC suede shoe sales

Hey everyone, I'm looking to get my first pair of suede shoes. There is a good price on three pairs, and I could really use some help in deciding. 1. Bruno Magli Ranuncolo Suede Blutcher. This is a really good price $149 minus additional 20% off. I'm not sure about these, however, because the...

Leather Conditioner Bad For Burnished Calf Shoes?

Ok, I actually did get a response from AE ...seems that the conditioner is not harmful, just redundant. "The premium polish does contain a conditioning agent along with the a carnauba wax base and a shoe cream. The Premium Polish is a an easy one step process. "

Q about Allen Edmonds on Ebay for $140

Could I find better prices on unused pairs anywhere else online? I'm not sure the patience to search B&M stores for a style I like in my size (9B). The best prices I've found are around $175 at 6pm.com, amazon, and ebay. Other sites have sales with prices in the $200's.

Q about Allen Edmonds on Ebay for $140

There seem to be a lot of sales at Amazon, Ebay, 6pm, etc. The seller mentioned seems very legit with 100% positive feedback. I'm trying to find a style that looks nice with jeans ... do you guys like Evans these or am I better off going with a mocasin or penny loafer?

Leather Conditioner Bad For Burnished Calf Shoes?

To followup on previous post, I contacted AE about the original question of the post but they never responded. Thanks for the comments.

(Old) Ask a Question, Get an Answer - please ask all quick questions here

Would appreciate opinions if these Allen Edmonds Evans would go nice with jeans. Or would a non-sporty penney loafer or something else be better?

    I don't like Allen-Edmonds

But you can always find some ugly loafer or blah looking chunky thing. b I've been searching weeks and know what you mean ... I got the burnished calf clifton which I'm very pleased with. To my eye, it is not clunky at all.

Leather Conditioner Bad For Burnished Calf Shoes?

I was under the impression that the AE premium polish was more or less dye + conditioner. Maybe they are not emphasizing conditioner because the burnished leather will not need it the way some of those other leathers do. You should write to AE, ask their advice, and then post it here. They will...

Leather Conditioner Bad For Burnished Calf Shoes?

The Allen Edmond site has specific shoe care instructions for burnished calf. For burnished calf, it skips the step about using leather conditioner. Since leather conditioner is generally thought to help the shoes last longer, would it be a mistake to occassionally use leather conditioner for...

    Let's abolish religion!

What I mean to say is, without religion, people are more likely to be immoral and evil when there is no threat of what kind of punishmenet awaits them from thier God. . What if one's religion is to above all love truth ... does that lead to immorality?

    Let's abolish religion!

I'm torn if discussions like this are a good thing or a bad thing. It is good to share perspectives and some day, hopefully, humanity will peacefully work these issues out. However, most often these discussions result in insults, frustration, and/or hard feelings.

Which of these two AE Shoes do you like?

Thanks to the better half, I now have all three. I got the Clifton for Christmas and this is how I'm planning on wearing it. I guess a white shirt but I am open to suggestions.... http://picasaweb.google.com/bg74000/...07586486634274 I think the colors look great, but I'm not so sure about the...

Which of these two AE Shoes do you like?

As mentioned, I ordered the Clifton (thanks to the group). One question is that the AE site says that the care is different for burnished calf. Specifically, it skips the step about using leather conditioner. Since leather conditioner is generally thought to help the shoes last longer, would it...

Is the taste on this forum too "nouveau riche"?

Very interesting thread ... for me it raises an interesting alternative question. "Is the motivation on this forum out of genuine love of style, or out of fear and insecurity". Most here I am sure genuinely enjoy style for it's own sake or they would not spend time helping others (which I...

By the way ... thanks everyone. It's really incredible to get such thoughtful (and do I dare say intelligent and tasteful) opinions from this many people!
