Good Natured Advice Thread (improving a business wardrobe)

I wear the athletic undershirt because 1) the fabric is softer than that of most dress shirts and feels more comfortable, 2) it provides a good base layer to cover skin, chest hair, etc., 3) I don't sweat profusely in the underarm area so protection is not needed there, and 4) this style of...

How to wear a white t-shirt

I feel the same way as you do, so I always wear an A-shirt (wife beater) underneath.

Why do men with nice bodies wear undershirts?

Not all undershirts are baggy and loose fitting. If a guy wears an undershirt that fits tighter on his body, it can actually enhance his look. Also, many times the material that an undershirt is made of is much more comfortable against the skin than the fabric of his shirt. There are different...

    Wearing No Undershirt

I wear a business suit and tie every workday and I always wear an A-shirt. While the A-shirt might be visible underneath my dress shirt, I look much, much better than the majority of my co-workers who are wearing so-called business casual attire. Never have I received a unfavorable comment from...

When is the Next Brooks Brothers Sale?

That has been my experience with them. I wear a small and they are much too big. The fabric is fantastic but, unfortunately, being a small means I can't wear a size down.

Do you wear an undershirt? Why?

+1 My chest and back tend to perspire more heavily than my underarms so an A-shirt works perfectly. During the warmer months it helps to wick moisture away and it provides another layer of warmth during the colder months. I wear them year 'round.

    Random fashion thoughts

Just curious, can you state that the crystal deodorant really works, and works all day? I've thought about it a million times, but have never pulled the trigger. Yes, it does work very well for me and it lasts all day. Fortunately, I do not sweat heavily underneath the arms like some guys do...

    Random fashion thoughts

generally speaking, you don't see non-shady people wearing these as their out-in-public shirt. on another note, i've never really seen the benefit to wearing a sleeveless undershirt. i wear undershirts to provide a buffer between my deodorant and my shirts. is it just to keep the nips from...

To undershirt or not to undershirt

I always wear a sleeveless undershirt / singlet with dress shirts. To me there's nothing worse than seeing slightly transparent shirts on people in a business setting with nothing underneath, and it definitely helps the shirts last longer. +1. Always wear one with dress, casual or polo shirts.

should i throw out all my A shirts?

I continue to wear my a-shirts underneath my dress or sports shirts when the first two buttons are undone. I really don't like the look when a t-shirt or v-neck is visible. Same here. I always prefer to wear an A-shirt, but you should wear whatever you are most comfortable in.

    RE: Athletic Undershirts

Side effects such as the constrictive feeling of crew or v-neck undershirts and the visibility if you unbutton the top one or two buttons after loosening your tie after work.

    RE: Athletic Undershirts

As an avid wear of athletic undershirts, I was wondering if there are any other guys who also are? They have many positive attributes and still function as undershirts, keeping you warmer in cold weather and soaking up (at least some) perspiration in the summer. Also, they tend to be thinner...

What Do You Look for In An Undershirt? What makes the perficect undershirt?

i don't like t-shirts so i go for the Hanes Tagless Comfort-Soft Sleeveless Undershirts. very long, 28" measure from the shoulder seam to bottom seam. +1

white tank top undershirts showing through dress shirt

I wear an A-shirt under my dress shirt everyday, have done so for many years and no one has ever commented about it. It really is a non-issue. The feel of a crew or v-neck t-shirt bothers me, and I do not sweat heavily under the arms. The A-shirt provides enough coverage and, if you buy a...

Whether I am in a suit and tie or casual attire, I always wear an A-shirt (sleeveless undershirt).

Wearing undershirts under dress shirts/casual shirts?

Sorry this is so late, but this is from several years ago from a former member, Mikey, who sums up very well why some of us prefer to wear the A-shirt style of undershirt. My opinion is that we should each wear what we are comfortable in and what suits our style. With the exception of having...

Baby acne in the back of my arms.

Under what possible conditions would you wear a "wife beater" in the first place? It is the preferred undershirt of some such as myself. I wear one daily under my dress shirt and much prefer it to a t-shirt or v-neck.
