    Any tips for for how to care for this dryness? Is it cracking? Or normal dry spots? For context, I’ve only worn this pair ~10 times, but I did notice the shoe’s manufacturing date according to the code was 2016. Should I have conditioned the Shell before wearing?

    New job requires new shoes. I fell into the Alden blackhole and got a second pair - Jumper Boots from AoSF. Walked around the block and back home for the lockdown, so only get to show them off here!

    Anyone know how to search for specific make up styles that are on pre-order? I'm new to the Alden shoe world (1 shoe in so far...). I'm a narrow B or C width and trying to find how I can find a suede Indy makeup on non-commando soles (leather or neocork etc).

    First pair of Alden’s, first pair of shell! Finally wore them outside of the house after agonizing about fit for fear of getting it wrong (already had to eBay a pair of calfskin Chelsea boots I mis-judged). Let’s hope I actually got it right and dont learn my true size the hard way.

    Good point - I love the look of shell but probably best to get a calf boot in my preferred style and last. After a while (and a few bonuses) I'll consider a MTO on a shell in the same size/last (knowing shell doesn't relax as much as calf). @lemmy127 Thanks for the tip - I called a few shops...
