    Dry Cleaner Recommendations - London

Hi All, I am looking for London dry cleaner recommendations. I need to launder my first beskope suit following several months of wear and am extremely worried about a bad dry cleaner damaging the garment! I don't mind paying for the best. Thanks in advance.

    Bespoke/MTM Recommendations - London

Thanks for the suggestions, I went with Redmayne in the end. Tom Mahon is a true gent.

    Silk Tie Question

They're not in particularly heavy rotation; they've been hanging for at least two weeks now, albeit from a thin hanger. The same area on the back appears stiff as if the slip knot is unevenly distributed and pulling. If storing them flat does not resolve then I will consider a return.

    Silk Tie Question

Hi All, I recently began to wear several silk neckties that I purchased a while ago. I have started to notice that the width of the neckties has become uneven around the keeper loop section; the slip knot is also entirely used (no excess visible). As can be seen in the image, this is not...

    Bespoke/MTM Recommendations - London

That makes total sense, better to see it as a journey in that case. It also appears that comfort gets overlooked. I am guilty of ignoring comfort over aesthetic in the showroom due to excitement and regretting it later (then again, maybe this is just me!). A mistake I have learnt from nonetheless.

    Bespoke/MTM Recommendations - London

@dieworkwear Thank you for the detailed explanation and recommendations. As a newcomer, I really appreciate the detail. Regarding sample garments, this is where I went wrong - I rushed into MTM from OTR without considering "house style".

    Bespoke/MTM Recommendations - London

I'm 6ft2, 36" Chest & 32" Waist. I'm avoiding OTR due to bad experience in the past with fit (partly down to my own error). My experience with tailored clothing is pretty minimal. As for preferred silhouette, I'm looking for something classic which will last, not this era's slim fit (this may...

    Bespoke/MTM Recommendations - London

Hi All, I'm looking to commission my first "investment piece" suit in London with a budget of £2500 (give or take) and would like your house recommendations. Since this is my first "investment piece" it will form the foundation of my sartorial wardrobe. I'm looking for a basic navy two piece -...

    Puckering Advise

Got it - would you expect to see this happen on a full canvas jacket?

    Puckering Advise

Hi there, I'd like some advise on some puckering I have noticed on my suit blazer, which has only been dry cleaned once. The blazer is full canvas so I'm interested to know if the puckering is "normal"? Usually this is caused by fusing, right? Thanks

    Dress Shirt Question

Thanks for the advice all; I will buy more shirts and give your suggestions a go.

Rate The Fit - New MTM Suit

Hi All, I just recieved my MTM suit and would like your advice on the fit. Note: The trousers are too long because they should actually have a turn-up. As a result, the trousers are being remade. The excess shirt cuff that is visible appears to be due to my shirt's arms being too long. Any...

    Dress Shirt Question

Thanks for the advice all - I will give the iron a go. @Panama Never, just wash and then air hang - I make sure it's a low spin and temp though. Perhaps I should do the same as @ter1413 and skip the machine altogether. The issue is, I tend to sweat quite heavily with or without a jacket...

    Dress Shirt Question

Hi All, I purchased a few white dress shirts from Eton a month or so ago; they've been through about 10 washes so far (low temp) however the cuffs appear to have started to "bubble". I've attached some images, what do you think? Is this normal? It's pretty minimal but I'd like your advise...

    First MTM Suit Guidance

Thanks for the advise @Phileas Fogg @BPL Esq - I went with Horn buttons in the end. Kept it simple - Full Canvas, Navy Holland & Sherry cloth with double vents, 3.25inch notched lapel, slanted pockets w/o ticket pocket. I will post a picture once it's done to get some feedback on the fit.

    First MTM Suit Guidance

Hi All, I will be ordering my first Made To Measure suit in the next couple weeks and would like some guidance before I attend the initial appointment. To start off, I have chosen to go with Edit Suits Co. in London - if anyone has experience with them I would love to hear it. I am going to...

    Second Opinion - Collar Size

Thanks for your responses @dieworkwear , @BPL Esq , it's much appreciated. I will try the shirt with a jacket and also check out a four-in-hand. SB

    Second Opinion - Collar Size

Hi All, I'd like to get a second opinion on the size of my new shirt's collar; I believe it's slightly too large for my neck (from what I've read thus far, the general rule of thumb is no visible gaps) - do bear in mind that in the image taken from behind I am leaning forward ever so slightly...

    Alteration Advise

Hi All, I am looking for some advise regarding a velvet blazer which I had alterations done on. I had my measurements taken on the item last week as some of the proportions were not quite perfect. I have used the tailor many times in the past with no issues so I was shocked to find that upon...
