Watch straps
There are two levels of Hirsch, the higher quality artisanal, and the lesser ones. Even with two pieces of level stitched together, that design technique itself does not guarantee a higher quality. The other brands suggested are good options too. Walt is a good fellow to deal with.- Enfant

For the Max Bill series, I recommend this (without numbers, automatic for larger dial 38mm). I was partial to the numbered dial once; but now I think I prefer the design with just lines. On the other hand, the porsche design sportivo 02 is also nice. You can get it for a few hundred...- Enfant

The IWC Portofino Hand Wound The JLC Master Ultra Thin The former is only water resistant; the latter is water-proof, though thin watches and water should stay away from each other. I went for the latter one!- Enfant

Round dress watch (<38mm) for small wrist
How about this: http://www.danishdesignwatches.com/ Rather modern but that does not mean it is not 'dressy'. Even their sub $200 models have sapphire crystal, something you don't get for watches of that price range.- Enfant

I need glasses -- What looks professional?
I own a pair of lindberg 3000x in gunmetal and a pair of acetanium line in tortoise shell fitted with transition lens. The 3000x took a bit of alignment to fit properly; but once well-fitted, they feel nearly weightless. I would also add that the 3000x line I have is pretty 'professional'...- Enfant

Green tea!
Green tea has been recommended as a substitute hydrating beverage after sports. 2L isn't that much. Japanese drink more tea per day than drinking water; I am quite sure it is more than 2L. I normally have a glass (teabag) in my Bodum tall glass after swimming 20 laps. If you want to dry...- Enfant

Anyone has a pair of these round glasses here? I have seen this pair of glasses in person--and thought that the dark tortoise brown goes very well with the matt gold titanium temples. In all, a very brownish tone pair of glasses.- Enfant

I beg to differ. I think the 'fallacy'--not logical mind you--is in analogizing watches with cars, however cheap or uber-expensive. There was once a book titled, "watches tell more than time", and I think the author was right on track. Given that the use-value between $150 Seikos and $15000...- Enfant
