From our opinion if you tried on a full canvas in a nice fabric and tried on the same or similar fabric jacket, you would be able to tell the difference unless it's a very heavy fabric. I think you might be referring to half lining Vs fully lined? Canvassing has more to do with the layers inside to give the jacket some body/structure.- eHaberdasher

Geez I need to check in more often! Sorry about the delay in response. The Nobile model is lightly padded, but the suits above have a natural shoulder with almost no padding (just a tiny pad is really almost necessary for a tailored jacket). I would recommend giving one of the above a try...- eHaberdasher
