That is a nice looking case you are right the leather will last for years if looked after in my experience the thread is the weakest link although in your case it would appear the handle is the weakest area.- My63

I think your briefcase is in good condition from what I can see, As with all of these cases the thread is the weak point most were machine stitched with linen thread which will decay over time.
