The Ultimate Vass (Footwear) Thread (Pictures, reviews, sizing, etc...)

My first pair of Vass arrived today. I've got only one question.... .... Wtf was I doing all this time messing around with all these other brands. These are truly beautiful. (Sorry the pic is terrible)

    ALTERATIONS Tailor in SAN FRANCISCO

He's my go to at this point. Not blown away, but seems fairly competent. Admittedly, I feel like I have no idea what I'm going to be charged. He seems to have a decent eye though. At least for fit. A lot of the suits they sell there look tacky AF.

    ALTERATIONS Tailor in SAN FRANCISCO

That's sad to hear. Andrea in Millbrae was a Sicilian immigrant who also spent most of the day listening to conservative talk radio. I worry he may have gone down the same COVID skeptic path (despite his wife working in a hospital). Wish I had the chance to meet Bob.

    ALTERATIONS Tailor in SAN FRANCISCO

I go to Ricardo's as my usual tailor. I think he's pretty good and it's in line with SF preferences. He does good work, but isn't the cheapest. Sounds less expensive than Jonathan though. I used to go to Andrea's fine tailoring in Millbrae. In his hay day, he was probably one of the best, but...

    WAYWRN: Classic Menswear, Casual Style

Could do something resembling a casual take on the security guard fit. Maybe go with a white/cream rollneck and black shoes/boots. I think black Chelseas could work well, but I'm partial to boots.

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

Good to know. Dealans fit well and the Ichis seem about right from the measurements. Thanks

Anyone got a bead on Ichikawas in the Bay Area? I feel like they'd work for me but would like to try them on in person first.

When you're the proud owner of some JMM frames....... and a one year old.

Should I or shouldn't I buy... (clothing item)?

You might check out the NMWA BST thread since it seems a lot of folks are selling theirs there. Alternatively, there are also a lot of places (including Valstar) to get A1 jackets that might be slightly more classic, depending if you prefer flight jackets vs the western look.

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

I wanted something more professional. I use a messenger bag most days but wanted a black briefcase for things like interviews and when I give talks at conferences (basically, when I'm wearing suits, which is not most days). I also don't like carrying around lots of stuff, so more minimal is...

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

Yup, if you love it, then it's right. I think it was the depth that was killing me more than the PD. I love the look of the Taos and Ichikawa but am wondering if I'd run into the same trouble.

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

I considered these as well but ended up with Carl Friedrik one you mentioned. Ultimately, I needed black. Also, the photos of the satchel and page ones look sexy, but the more I looked at them, the more they look a little casual. They all use veg tan leather, so at least there's that. The CF...

Walked into a local place to try on Enzos. Walked out...... more broke. My first JMMs. Enzos were way too big on me. I don't know how they seem to fit so many of you so well. A guy at another shop told me my head is tall and I have a chiseled jaw, so I figured they would work, but it was...

The unofficial Drake's London Appreciation Thread

That would make sense since the stock appears to be the same. I wonder why they're changing pricing then.

The unofficial Drake's London Appreciation Thread

Was it just VAT inclusive or even more? By my calculation, the US prices are 45% too high if you consider what they should be without VAT. I imagine they'll argue that they're shipping from the NYC store and duties were already paid, but there shouldn't be any for purchases under $800. Wish I...

The unofficial Drake's London Appreciation Thread

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but anybody else notice wildly different prices in the US from the UK? If you want to ship to the US it "converts" to USD but this is no normal currency conversion. I get that the pound is down, but c'mon. £295 coat including VAT converts to $450...

Anyone know what color these Zephirins are? Tried them on a while back but can't seem to find a match online. My colorblindness might be messing with me though...
