Would appreciate some advice for a student on an OPT in my ****** industry

Are you from Mexico or Canada by any chance? If so, you should also look into the TN visa.

    401k and Roth IRAs

The reason an IRA/Roth IRA is typically more useful than a 401k (after the match of course...never forego an employer match--it's free money!) is because of expense ratios. I've seen some truly gruesome 401ks where the expense ratios are above 1%. If you open an account with say Vanguard or...

    401k and Roth IRAs

What tax bracket are you in? That'll determine whether you should contribute to a Roth or a Traditional IRA. Typical advice is to contribute up to the 401k company match (4% in this case), then fully fund a Roth/Traditional IRA, then contribute to the 401k if you still have money left over...

    Public speaking prowess?

In two of my classes during undergrad, our professors videotaped us during our first and last presentation of the semester. If you've never seen yourself present, I would recommend doing this. You'll notice things about your body language, tone, and just general manner that will be extremely...

What to see, do and buy in Lisbon/Portugal?

I'm a little puzzled why portugal isn't a more popular destination. I'm not sure either, but it could be b/c it's somewhat new to the Euro (2001 I think) and it was under a dictatorship until the mid-70s, so it's still a relatively "new" country compared to the usual European destinations.

What to see, do and buy in Lisbon/Portugal?

I was quite young when i visited Portugal, but it was really beautiful. One of the things I remember most is a lookout or hill with a fantastic view of Lisbon. We were up there at sunset and it provided an incredible sight. I can remember a canon on it, so it must have been part of some kind of...

What to see, do and buy in Lisbon/Portugal?

Around Lisbon there are two places: Belem--Mosteiro dos Jeronimos and the Torre de Belem. Sintra--MUST go to Palacio da Pena, and you can get a package deal and get into the Quinta da Regaleira as well which is well worth it. I would definitely recommend going up to Porto, the 2nd biggest...

    windbreaker

http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/i...entPage=family Nah, I've tried that on in person and it fits too baggy in the body. I don't think that's the look the OP is going for.

(Old) Ask a Question, Get an Answer - please ask all quick questions here

So on the Rugby RL site they have the peacoat listed as 199.99 (on sale). However, when you go to put in on the cart it charges you 229.99 (not including tax or shipping, which are still 0). I called customer service to complain about the advertising of one price while charging another price and...

    Moving to a northern city

I live in Wicker Park (about 5-10 minutes from Lincoln Park)--trust me, you'll fit right in. Without coming off as a complete prick, Lincoln Park is extremely yuppy and big ad agency, frat-tastic clothes, summers in Maine...yeah, you'll fit in And don't worry too much about clothes, you won't...

    Adult braces, anyone?

For traditional braces (or even Invisalign), do they take any teeth out (the back ones)? Also, obviously it depends on a case to case basis, but what's the range of price for traditional braces if you're 19/20?

    Bright blue jeans

Club Monaco ones are down to 19 bucks. Fit is really good too (for me at least).

Help the Style Impaired - Wardrobe Rebuild

For simple, non-graphic tees I'd check out Banana Republic if there's one around you. They're relatively cheap (come out to about 15 a shirt if you buy more than one) and I really like the fit. My other tip would be to not buy too much at once--make this style overhaul a process, because if you...

Ralph Lauren Polo - Slim Custom Fit

Xeno, I think they might be a bit long for your liking. I'm 5'9" and the end of the shirt hits about an inch past my belt. I'll measure later.

Any experience with the denim shirts they have on the website right now? True to size...slim fitting??
