Yeah, kimono, obi, tabi, zori, hakama, juban, himo, etc. I did some Japanese Sword stuff too ;) And it helps that I was studying the izari-ryu school of tsubashi. I still have a chest of some amazing antique silks Wakarimasu Nihongo ma - ma

Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions

I used to buy vintage Kimono stuff several years back, and those prices seem normal. Customs fees were never atrocious, but they're always there. On the other hand, everything I've gotten from Japan was extremely carefully packaged and usually includes some little surprise like a post card or...

Hit the nail on the head ^here. Any professional who deals with customers on a face to face basis should have a care about their appearance and at least present themselves as neat and tidy. If you call the cops and the officer that shows up is disheveled and dirty, you will automatically...

These are incoming, so I have little influence and no control over that end, but on the same note I put clear packing tape over my receivers address as well.

Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions

Is anyone else having problems with usps tracking? I've got three packages in transit with two "expected" to deliver today and no updates since the 5th. I figure it may have something to do with the upcoming holidays and volume, but it still makes me nervy when stuff "stalls"

I think it's a damned shame you don't live closer, I can only imagine the franken-cars that could be with a little creativity. Personally, I think a 20b would be interesting in the little Porsche.

I don't blame most car salesmen for not wearing jackets in our neck of the woods, I couldn't imagine another layer of fabric in the humidity and walking around on asphalt or blacktop. There is not, in my opinion, any bloody excuse for being sloppy in any profession.

typically the same way you measure the chest, but at the area that's nipped in (usually around the top button on a 2, or the middle on the three. This is usually smaller then the chest measurement, but by varying amounts.) I would include where the measurement was taken in your response...

Since we're on the topics of pattern/texture mixing: Do you gents think that adding another layer increases the variations you can play with without compromising the contrast to solid i.e. overcoats, hats, odd vests? I guess what has me wondering is the ability to retain multiple solid...

Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions

I've been known to bid on things with a ridiculously low starting number (like .99) fully expecting to get outbid. Most of the time I get outbid, but I've gotten a few. Once I bid on (and won for .99 plus shipping) a orphaned dB coat just to scavenge the buttons. I don't see how someone...

You may be on to something, although I think it takes a stronger (not straight) taper on the trouser to prevent looking like your legs are trying to fly away. I know I dislike the look on me, but I'm short, thin, and think trousers with too strong of a taper make me look like I'm wearing...

Fwiw, I got my 5th St in today. Damned shame I pulled the trigger before the sale but for the life of me I cannot find a thing wrong with them beyond some creasing in the instep area. Frankly they look like someone tried them on a little too roughly and they got pulled. And no, they are not...
