Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures
While the brief tote is not pretty it is a very functional utility bag. I use mine as a sport and travel bag. It is much larger than a true briefcase. The wife's comment "looks like something I'd want if I was stranded on a mountain". A true Filson product.- 1961scout

The shaft on traditional Engineer boots are large to tuck pants into. I think they're all Goodyear welt but haven't checked. One point of interest, frye doesn't have a lower tier of boots unlike most other makers. I have never owned Redwing so no direct comparison. If your looking at an American made model I'd say go for it. (I'm happy with the Mexican made also) You can find older models on sale but current models will usually be FRP. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk- 1961scout

I love my Frye boots. I'm not sure why they get so little notice here. Maybe it's that there staples are considered biker boots and western style. I own three pair.
