Nestrobe and Westerlind in Nolita have japanesey/outdoor bits, maybe Green Fingers for pretty flowers & overpriced vintage or Nepenthes if you're by the garment district. There's 2nd Street by NYU that's probably about as good as Ina but has a better chance of turning up random Japanese brands...- the kidcrash

I've always found the Japanese licensing/mgmt company biz super interesting. Margaret Howell/MHL in Japan is a proper lifestyle brand with home goods, interior design, cafes, etc. There is some crossover between the British team (Margaret and co.) and TSI Holdings/Anglobal's Japanese team...- the kidcrash

^fun! i visited Feeeet a few times when i briefly lived in Nagoya, but only their vintage store. Even that had a really cool selection. The local Kapital store was also a good time scuse the v old quote. An interesting (?) tidbit: that Kap Beethoven sweater is a riff on these old Howard...- the kidcrash

oh cool, hope it helps. ya i agree, i prefer looser cuts to the usual repro stuff. If you're open to one-wash (which i also prefer) there are sooo many more brands (Ordinary Fits, Herill, Lamond, Kiji, Cantate, A. Vontade, Ciota, Stabilizer GNZ..........) i rly like going on sites for japanese...- the kidcrash

Tuki's Type 3 denim is great if you're open to something weirder and the founders also do a made-to-order brand called Noritake/Harada w/ wild raw denim cuts. There's also Westoveralls 803, Hatski loose taper, Auralee wide hard twist jeans, Universal Products no tuck denim, Scye Basics wide cut...- the kidcrash

that's pretty funny. I've never been big into his content but seems he has fun doing whatever it is he does. that reminds me, I tried something like that w an old pair of 50" waist USN jeans a while ago, it wasn't so bad honestly -- it's so hard to find normalish-fitting jeans with proper giant...- the kidcrash

Forgive the especially long answer, I've been thinking about it for a while. Short answer: I've handled a lot of their clothing over the past three years and there's been a very obvious drop-off in quality most likely due to expanding stockists and a desire to bolster margins. back on...- the kidcrash
