Fill in the blank: You can never have too many ________ (clothing related)

I didn't think I was in need for another suit, but found one I really liked. When deciding on whether or not to get it, someone told me, you can never has too many nice suits. Sure 1,000 suits would be overkill, but in realistic terms, what piece of clothing do you think you can never have...

    My compliments to Ferragamo

I purchased a pair of Tramezza's from the Ferragamo store in December of 2007. A few months ago the left shoe started to squeak, I gave it some time to fix itself, but the problem persisted and got worse. I eventually took the shoes in to have the store check them out. They sent them to NJ, free...

    Briefcase/Shoulder Bags

I would avoid that clap front, they are a miserable thing to try and open. Depending on your price range, check out Glaser Designs on the forum. You won't ever need another bag.

Atlanta's Sid Mashburn vs. Timberlake in GQ

How are his tailors compared to Mario in quality and pricing? I have not gone to Mario yet, however I almost ran in there this past weekend. I should certainly do it before he hangs up his sewing needle...others on the forum can answer for sure. I like Sid's guys enough that I don't stray too far.

Atlanta's Sid Mashburn vs. Timberlake in GQ

Yeah, the guy on the right looks huge. Have you ever bought anything there? Are those his only SA's? Yeah, those are the guys on the floor. They have some in house tailors too, much shorter. I have a few things from there, suits, blazer, shirts, and they have done a lot of tailoring for me. I...

Atlanta's Sid Mashburn vs. Timberlake in GQ

How tall? They look like they are 5'6" lol. All those guys are 6+. The guy on the right is like 6'4''. The camera must of been hanging from the ceiling.

The guys on the left are pretty tall in person. In this picture, they look more like hobbits.

    Bag Recommendations

Go Filson, true canvas and look great. I do not own one, but nearly purchased one a few months ago, but instead went with an all leather version. In my experience, they are a little stiff but I am sure they break in some with wear.

Recent Purchases (Classic menswear - formerly Men's clothing)

Congratulations! You are going to love that bag. I am the happy new owner of a flaptop I got as a Christmas gift. The quality is great and the subtle leather smell fills my small office. Love to see some pictures when you get it.

A Farewell to Good Quality (...the writing of)

The more ignorant and/or uncaring of quality customers become, the greater that quality cutting becomes a necessity to remain competitive. I think you make a very good point and my piece ends with a similar conclusions. I believe the more knowledgeable we are about the products we purchase, the...

A Farewell to Good Quality (...the writing of)

Costs rarely go down and we are about to encounter high rates of inflation over the next few years (see Bernanke's history as an inflation hawk). We are already starting to see goods labeled as Influenced by Italy instead of Made in Italy. Nothing I have seen makes me think the cost of goods...
