Guitars have six strings and are Spanish.Africans had a Three String or Four instrument which they brought to the USA.Whites took the Four String banjo and added a Fifth String.The bottom "Drone" string.I understand that many Mods and Skinheads did not know the origins of the music they loved...- yankmod

Agreed. There was a British Documentary made in the Mid Seventies,about American Blues.An Older African-American Blues Pianists says"The Blues came from England with the song"St.James Infirmary".
