If I don't use the pad it's actually a bit more comfortable. I believe the old design of the pad was just a thinner single piece of leather. The one on mine is two pieces: the top piece being a thinner leather and the bottom piece a thick piece. I fee like it's the thick piece that jams...- Brooks

These look great on you. What's you inseam? I'm a guy with a bigger butt and thighs who likes a medium/high rise but I also have stumps for legs so I don't think these will look as good on me as they do on you.- Brooks

Yes definitely! The heel on the Beckman is easily the least aesthetically pleasing thing about the boot. I know some people would say the bulbous toe but I like it.- Brooks

Yeah I just used a blow dryer to soften the LP then used my hands to rub it into the boot. After that I used to blow dryer on the boot to get it to seep into all the areas. I then brushed it down with a horse hair brush. The last step I did was repeat the whole process a second time. If you...- Brooks

@flyswatter When I used my 257 as a personal item bag on an airplane I was able to fit 5 shirts, 5 boxers, and 5 pairs of socks as well as an 11" laptop, water bottle, a small book, and my toiletries. I'd second a 257. I was trying to decode between a 256 and 257 as a school bag and found that the 256 is full after a few books, laptop, and a water bottle. With the 257 I could fit all of that easily with extra room when I need to put other things. I've gone on a few trips with the 257 as well...- Brooks

Red Wing Boots - Your Opinion
Had my 875s for nearly 4 months and have been wearing them daily but I still get pain in the back of my right ankle. I suspect it's because I do a lot of driving in these boots. Any suggestions on what can help? The boots are completely broken in save this one issue.- Brooks
