    I try to pick something that won't be distracting, but still visually interesting. For me this ends up being tones of navy or burgundy in either textured solids or block/repp stripes.

    Colors and textures look good. You should really try out some fuller trousers though. Trust me, your body will thank you.

    These are pleated trousers, so wearing with suspenders should be a give in. I would also argue that once one has a stomach, it should never be protruding over the waistband. To each their own though. Just trying to give constructive feedback to try and help someone look their best.

    You should consider increasing the rise on these before having them finished. I'd say at least 1 - 2 inches.
